INSPIRE

Episode 2 with Max Shaw, who is a final year medical student at Bristol University chatting about his work on mental health research in medicine.

The INSPIRE Scheme is a programme running across the Universities of Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter and Plymouth for medics, vets and dentists to encourage student involvement in research. The INSPIRE Student Journal allows undergraduates from these subjects to submit their student research for publication in a peer reviewed journal. The INSPIRE Podcast is a new podcast which has just been launched in association with the INSPIRE Student Journal.

Eleanor Best, studying Veterinary Science (BVSc) at the Bristol Veterinary School is a senior editor of the INSPIRE journal as well as one of the hosts of the INSPIRE podcast, Eleanor brought the programme to BILT’s attention and we are very excited to share it with you!

Hosting alongside Eleanor are three medical students from Cardiff and Plymouth Universities, together they wanted to create a podcast to showcase student research and discuss interesting research topics with academics in a language that everyone can understand. Each week, they release a new episode either discussing interesting research with each other or inviting guest speakers/students on to talk about their research. They are really passionate about getting students involved in research so are hoping to reach as many people as possible with the INSPIRE podcast!
