Student Research Journal 22/23 – open for submissions
We are delighted to announce that our Student Research Journal, this year led by our two Research-Rich Student Fellows, Layla Savage and Caitlin Price, is open for submissions. Please share with all undergraduate and postgraduate taught students. They are also recruiting for the editorial board.
Student Hackathon: assessment through the lens of the student.
BILT is hosting a student hackathon focusing on assessment on 6th December. We will be exploring student perceptions of assessment. Our findings will be shared on the BILT Blog, watch this space!

Practical Skills for Teaching Inclusive History: CARGO Classroom
FutureLearn, 4 week course, 2 hours of study per week.
Develop your competence and confidence when teaching African and African diaspora histories by sharing best practices through CARGO classroom lessons and resources. Explore ways to improve the representation of people of African and African diaspora heritage drawing on 5,000 years of history. During the course you will explore ways to help you combat social injustices in school history curricula, in particular when teaching African and African diaspora histories.
Show, Tell and Talk: Graduate Skills Development at Bristol
February 22nd 2023, 13.00 – 14.30.
This session will be led by Stuart Johnson and Julian Kendell
The Bristol Skills Framework has been in place since 2015. A lot has happened since then! In this workshop we will look at the work we are doing to refresh the Bristol Skills Framework so that it will help our students develop the skills to thrive in a changing, challenging and dynamic world. We will hear from some of the academics who are trialling the new Skills Framework about how they are using it to engage their students in their discipline and prompt reflection on achievements and future plans. And we will explore the opportunities and challenges of embedding the new Skills Framework in your programmes.
