Laura Robinson

Bristol Teaching Awards. Shortlisted nominee in white text on red background. Golden apple in the bottom left corner

Professor in Geochemistry, School of Earth Sciences

Laura has always been very helpful and supportive, she can always give some constructive suggestions and lets me know where I should improve. And she can be so encouraging when she knows that I have come across some setbacks in my project.

I have seen how she nurtures, encourages and supports her PhD students to obtain their full academic potential, she does this in a friendly approachable way

[She] helps to create a research group that feels inclusive where all voices can be heard. Examples of this include non-alcohol centric group socials and observing / recognising holiday celebrations of all members of the group, for example Chinese New Year group celebrations.
