Faculty of Engineering
The Industrial Liaison Office (ILO) helps industry to engage with both students and academics in the Faculty of Engineering.
They support students by providing a range of schemes and activities both within and outside of degree programmes that will help students to explore career options, engage with industry professionals and apply skills and knowledge.
They help industry partners access research and academics and provide guidance and support to raise their profiles and connect partners with our talented students.
The team works to help students find and prepare them for placements, with over 100 students participating each year.
This year is the 10th anniversary of the ILO Mentoring scheme which links all first year students to an engineer or computer scientist working in industry, providing mentoring which helps them to explore career options and help them to make the most of their time at University. Over 200+ mentors are recruited each year.
