News

Its a been a busy week here, with colleagues taking part in Welcome Week and hosting the university’s first Bristol Futures Festival.

Bristol Futures Festival 2022

The festival introduced first year students to various aspects of Bristol Futures including the interdisciplinary optional units, the open online courses, study skills, and the Bristol PLUS Awards. During the event students enjoyed a fantastic array of performances and had the opportunity to speak with staff and current students.

Explore students’ work created within the optional units in the Bristol Futures Student Showcase. The showcase explores a wide range of interesting and thought provoking topics.

In the Bristol Futures 22 Zine, edited by BILT’s own Chole Reed, you can find out more about how students view Bristol University and the city of Bristol as a vanguard of change. It is a brilliant collection of creativity and innovation, enjoy!

Themes include “letter to my undergraduate self“. This asks staff to reflect on their experiences as an undergraduate, hoping to show current students that the struggles they face were struggles for all of us too and can be overcome. Please email Jenny Norris, Study Skills Tutor at Library Services, to express your interest: jennifer.norris@bristol.ac.uk
