Congratulations to this year’s Bristol Teaching Award winners!

The Bristol Teaching Celebration event was a huge success with hundreds of colleagues attending and a fabulous performance by The Bristol Suspensions. We are so happy to announce the winners of this year’s Bristol Teaching Awards!

BILT Summer Hackathon – paid student opportunity

There are just a few days left for students to apply for our 4-day summer hackathon, looking at how to create a sense of belonging and nurture wellbeing through teaching, learning and assessment activities. Students can read more about this opportunity on MyOpportunities. Closing date for applications is 9am on the 13th June.

This online workshop will showcase examples of approaches to dialogic feedback and include contributions from BILT Associates – Dr Lloyd Fletcher (School of Management) and Dr Christophe Fricker (School of Modern Languages). Register your place here.

Show, Tell and Talk – Students experiences of online assessment, 22nd June, 1pm – 2pm

This online workshop will explore students experiences of online assessment and includes contributions from both staff and students from across different areas of the University. Register your place here.

The Compassionate Conference, 28th June, 10am – 4:10pm.

The BILT annual conference will explore how in difficult times we can take hopeful and compassionate approaches to teaching and assessment for transformational learning, both in person and on-line. The programme includes guest keynote speakers Sally Brown and Kay Sambell – Hear the latest from the sector on compassionate approaches to assessment design that support both staff and students View the full schedule and book here.

Show, Tell and Talk – Student centred framework for assessing programme’s Employability and Academic Skills (EAS), 29th June, 12pm – 1pm

In this online workshop an interactive tool for Employability and Academic Skills (EAS) will be demonstrated by Senior Lecturer Dr Hadi Abulrub (Mechanical Engineering). This tool aims to translate the University’s skills framework into a programme-specific skills matrix. We will also consider ways to integrate the tool into the students learning journey and engage them in self-assessment and reflection on their own development to better prepare them for their future career.
