[Hadi and Chloe] have gone above and beyond to deliver teaching for us that is appropriate but interesting as well as supporting us exceptionally in clinical environments. They are the most supportive teaching fellows I’ve ever had in 4 years of medicine and have tailored their teaching to suit our needs and questions impeccably. They are both not only incredibly intelligent but great teachers, listeners and lovely human beings. They have given us great teaching alongside pastoral support and even sweet treats on occasion!
The most amazing team who have inspired me to consider Obstetric and Gynaecology as a career.
Every week they consistently go above & beyond to carve out opportunities on busy, understaffed labour wards and clinics. They don’t have to do this. They always look out for us as people and students under stress.
Warm & welcoming – on scary intimidating wards they are a shining light, a delight to be around, make us feel invited and valid as students! ; I really feel like they’re championing our learning as future doctors and trying to make our future patients’ experiences as good as they possibly can be…
We asked the team how they felt about being nominated and shortlisted.
We are so delighted and humbled to have been nominated for a Bristol Teaching Award!
We have been so surprised and are so grateful to the students who took the time to nominate us and write such lovely things. It has been such a privilege to work with the wonderful fourth year medical students this year and we have so enjoyed teaching them about our wonderful specialty, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, as part of their Reproductive Health and Care of the Newborn clerkship. We have enjoyed using as many different methods of teaching as we can to inspire and enthuse the students, whilst also ensuring we align our teaching with their curriculum as closely as possible in order to help them prepare for their upcoming finals. We have also been so grateful to the brilliant administrative and logistical support we have received from the team at the South Bristol Academy – without them our jobs would be impossible!
