BILT Student Research Journal – call for student editors

Please share these details with relevant students.

The BILT Student Research Journal provides an avenue for BILT to showcase undergraduate research and gives students the opportunity to run and contribute to an academic journal. The journal is student-led from the editing through to peer-reviewing. We are currently looking for students to be part of their Subject Editorial Board (see role descriptions for specific details on students best suited to each role type). Applications close at 9am on Monday 1st March.

Research without Borders 2021 festival and calls for contributions

Please share these details with Postgraduate Research (PGR) students

Research without Borders is the University of Bristol’s annual festival of postgraduate research and is organised by the Bristol Doctoral College (BDC). The festival is taking place online on Wednesday 19th May. The BDC are looking for PGRs who are keen to develop creative ways of sharing their research online to take part in the festival. PGRs interested in taking part should complete the online application form by 9am Thursday 11th March.

Research Supervisor Blackboard Resources – now available

We are delighted to announce a new dedicated Blackboard space to help support the development of research supervisory practice at the University of Bristol. The space is designed to act as a central hub for internal and external resources related to Postgraduate Research (PGR) supervision. Resources are organised around a series of key themes including:

  • supervision development
  • PGR-supervisor agreement of principles
  • a mapping of the skills training, professional development and community building
  • recordings of the sessions and materials from the inaugural Research Supervision Symposium

If you attended the Research Supervision Symposium you have access to the ‘Research Supervisor Development’ space in Blackboard under “My Organisations”. If you don’t currently have access you can self-enrol.

The DEO have a range of forthcoming events to support you in your online teaching, including daily-drop ins for hands on support, Blackboard training on various themes, and marking online using Turnitin, visit the DEO events page.
